Why homosexuals don’t deserve or need marriages

It amazes me how so many things that were  unthinkable just 60 years ago are now considered  to be settled rights instead…the “mercy killing” of the disabled, handicapped infants and old people, elective abortions, birth control for teenagers and the assumption that they are incapable of self control, the banning of public displays of Christianity,like Christmas trees,crosses, and nativity scenes,the banning of prayer in public and in the schools, the protection of the most vile art and pornography as expression,the list is a LONG one. Now we’re adding homosexual marriage as the right of the month.

There are perfectly valid reasons why homosexuals do not NEED marriage,and should be denied it as a “right”,while heterosexual couples DO need it.

Historically,the marriage of a man and a woman was celebrated as their legal and moral union, which was expected to result in their having and rearing children of their own. The marriage gave everyone certain legal rights and protections. The children would have the family name,and the right to be supported financially by the father as well as he was able to do it,sometimes with the assistance of the wife and children working,also. The children grew up with both parents,and as adults, left home to marry and raise families of their own. Things weren’t always perfect,but people had a FAMILY their whole life, and were related by blood and marriage to OTHER people,grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and other,more distant relatives,who often lived nearby, and who looked out for them,too,in a way that mere friends and acquaintances didn’t. Most often, the married couple were faithful to each other, and that protected them from a myriad of problems: illegitimacy, sexually transmitted disease,ruined reputations (with the sting of social ostracism) and marital breakdown. It wasn’t a perfect system, since people aren’t, but it worked for millenia,all over the world, in some form, in all cultures,with only minor variations, and it WORKED. Civilization itself began as an organized way to protect, help and preserve families.

Even in the most”advanced”, sexually open  cultures of history,like Greece and Rome, where homosexuality was openly practiced, even by the ruling class, homosexual MARRIAGE was unknown. People understood that there were large,distinct differences betweeen a homosexual union and a heterosexual one that made marriage for the former unnecessary and even perhaps ridiculous.

I will now enumerate some of those differences.

Firstly,everyone knows that among male homosexuals, promiscuity is the norm, and considered to be the ideal,too. Traditional marriage is supposed to confer a certain exclusivity, “cleave only unto him/her for as long as you both shall live”. Adultery is a widespread problem,but the majority of married people are faithful to their spouses. For a homosexual couple to marry who have no intention at all to BE faithful for life to the other person is to make a travesty out of the institution of marriage. In a case like that, all the “wedding” is is a fancy, expensive party to publicly announce who one’s current housemate is and proclaim one’s homosexuality, and the “marriage” is meaningless. I thought it significant when the first homosexual men to VERY publicly marry in San Francisco began divorce proceedings about a year later.

Secondly,homosexuals claim that only in marriage can they have legal rights to inheritance,getting medical insurance and other employment benefits for the dependent partner,etc.,etc. That is not true. I have lived in New York and the state of Washington most recently. In both states, homosexuals have all the legal rights to those things as “domestic partners” that married people do. On every insurance policy in our files, it says “spouse or domestic partner”, NOT just “spouse”,so the big insurance companies are nondiscriminatory towards homosexual couples. Marriage is NOT needed for getting “benefits”.

Thirdly,homosexuals,by definition, cannot impregnate each other, so can never, by the usual means, bear and raise children between them. Since homosexual men have such unstable sexual relationships,that is a good thing. Since they cannot have their own children, they have no need of marriage to protect the legal and moral rights of those children.

 Multitudinous studies have shown, again and again, that, contrary to the radical feminists’ mendacious ravings, children are better off,by ALL measures,when they grow up in an INTACT family,with  male father and female mother,who married before the kids were conceived. This is even true of an ABUSIVE family. Children from abusive. permanently married parents are STILL better off than those from broken homes or single mothers. This being so,it stands to reason that, if the child’s welfare is REALLY the most important consideration, then every child should be adopted by a married heterosexual couple. If that is going on, then the homosexuals will have no children that need legal or moral protections, so,again, no marriage is necessary.

Forthly, the homosexuals’ out-of-control behavior when Prop 8 passed in California was thuggish,amoral,despicable and criminal. They behaved like a gigantic street gang. If ever homosexual marriage is conferred as a “right”,other activist groups will remember that, and will likely behave as badly,or worse, in order to get THEIR way. That would be setting a horrible precedent. Such sociopathic movements deserve to LOSE whatever it is they want badly enough to blatantly break a multitude of laws when their demands are not met.

Fifth, the sexually transmitted diseases that homosexuals get from and give to  each other,like AIDS, hepatitis B,syphilis and so on, represent a growing public health menace. Homos’ sexual activity is the engine driving the spread of these diseases. To make homosexual marriage a “right” is to give legally protected status to  what is actually a PUBLIC HEALTH HAZARD. That is so VERY crazy that I can’t even think of how to express it. It would give us a PERMANENT reservoir for AIDS,which will undoubtedly be treated by BILLIONS in TAX DOLLARS per YEAR,and additional billions in health insurance payouts, which will drive premiums sky-high for EVERYONE.

Lastly, the homosexual activists promised that, if the states would please only allow “civil unions”, the homosexuals would NEVER EVER push for homosexual MARRIAGE. They have very openly BROKEN that promise,though the states HAVE allowed civil unions. Again,for being so deceitful, they DESERVE to lose.

I may be wrong…but I doubt it.

The liberal double standard, explained

For a VERY long time, I was angered and puzzled by the behavior of liberals/Leftists (including almost all of the media) towards conservatives. A double standard seemed obvious to me. There have been countless instances, here are a few.

People like Bill Maher and Michael Moore can say the vilest things about conservatives and especially President Bush, unsubstantiated things, even slanderous things,and that is OK, no criticism from any other famous person, “freedom of the press”, etc.,etc. Rush Limbaugh criticizes liberals for what they say, even plays a recording of it on his show, and posts supporting documents on his website for people to read, so his reports ARE substantiated. He goes temporarily deaf, and we have a prominent liberal saying,”There IS a God,Rush Limbaugh is DEAF!” and a positive FLOOD of equally vicious commentary from the liberal media outlets.

Nixon was driven from office by the Watergate scandal, viciously criticized by the media (with Dan Rather at the head of the pack),who gleefully interviewed every last disgruntled aide Nixon  had, and reported as facts whatever tidbits of dirt they turned up from ANY source. Clinton was guilty of much WORSE crimes in office (even leaving OUT Monica Lewinsky), and the press was…SILENT. They VERY carefully covered up JFK’s womanizing shenanigans, in the White House and out, and nobody reminds us that it was HE who STARTED our involvement in the Vietnam War.

Pornographers all claim First Amendment protections to peddle their vile garbage, and even get to host shows on the History Channel, Robert Mapplethorpe’s deliberately offensive art was protected by the courts as “expression”, too,yet conservative speakers get shouted off stages at college campuses, GOP candidate signs get defaced,and…that’s all OK.

So,I was puzzled. Why the difference?

Then, a few months ago, Dr. Laura Schlesinger was a guest host on “The O’Reilly Factor”, and she had on a liberal guest, an activist. I don’t remember her name,I don’t think she was famous,I know that I had never heard her name or seen her before. Dr. Laura asked very few questions, and let the interviewee rave on, and suddenly it was ALL CLEAR. From what this gal said, the liberals feel themselves to be  ”MORALLY SUPERIOR “(her words) to conservatives, who are “EVIL and STUPID” (her words again).Hence, they feel COMPELLED by a ”MORAL OBLIGATION” (her words again) to stop conservatives however they have to, even by lying, whatever it takes to silence them,wreck their careers, get them fired, WHATEVER.

So, when the media covered the tea party protests NEGATIVELY, and made the crowds look LOTS SMALLER than they really were, I understood.I also understood , in retrospect,why their coverage of Vietnam War protests was JUST as dishonest, the OPPOSITE way,RESPECTFUL of the protestors, and their camera angles that made crowds of 500 or so (from campuses of 25,000 students or more) look like THOUSANDS.

So, now you all know why the double standard exists, and we can stop wondering why and go on to defeat liberals and their loony,lying causes,NOT by “any means necessary”, but ONLY by moral and legal means. That will demonstrate,amply, OUR moral superiority.

And,in the end,those are the only means that will stand the test of history.

An Easter message of hope

At this particular time in America, for many of us Christians, the times seem very bad.

1. We have a president who denies to the world that we have a Christian nation, or even that America was founded on Christian/Jewish principles. He has even gone so far as to say that ISLAM has “shaped America”. (Like 9/11, and the New Jersey Moslems dancing in the streets over it? Like the embassy hostages the Moslems took from the Iranian embassy while Carter was in office? That is the only “shaping” Islam has done to America that I know of, other than possibly the Persian rug trade  and the demand for antique Persian rugs.)

2. I saw a news item Friday on the ‘Net that Dr. James Dobson is resigning his post as leader of “Focus on the Family” and  he made some remarks sounding as if the Obama presidency has him in despair over the future of Christianity.

3.I saw a news magazine yesterday (never mind which ONE!) that trumpeted on the cover,”The Decline and Fall of Christianity”.

I have also noticed that there are some very active, very loud, powerful and wealthy militant atheist groups out there, and some loud atheistic individuals,too. I will not steer anyone their way by NAMING them here. They are OUT THERE, and they are seemingly trying to drive Christians and all Christian symbols from public view,both by court cases, laws and public ridicule and blasphemy, with very generous press coverage of their successes. The ascendancy of the Left (who are mostly atheists or agnostic, to hear them talk or read their writings) has meant more and more court decisions and laws that are openly hostile to freedom of religious expression, but only for Christians, and sometimes Jews. Everyone else, ESPECIALLY the loud and militant atheists, have TOTAL freedom of THEIR LACK of “religion”. Our FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT!!!!! has even gone so far as to nominate some openly anti-Christian, anti-Catholic, anti-Pope people to be in the federal government. Any political influence we Christians have EVER had in America has apparently evaporated, to the point where we are lucky to not have lost the right to VOTE.

Enough,enough. There is PLENTY of hope left, enough things to do to keep us busy all our lives, and our children and grandchildren after us.

Remember, Jesus said,”My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36,KJV). Then, should OURS be? He said,”Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth”(Matthew 13:19)”. Why do WE try SO hard to get EARTHLY power, EARTHLY money, when He said THAT? How do we explain our striving for political power,if His Kingdom is NOT here? About all the “Christian coalition” of the past 2 decades has achieved is to deepen the animosity of the Left, and make them all the more eager to indoctrinate the rising generation against Christianity AND organized religion. They have made Christians APPEAR to be trying for a Christian THEOCRACY in Washington, an illusion that was helped along by the intemperate remarks of some prominent Christian leaders,who set themselves up as spokesmen for us ALL.

Seems to me that our major problem as Christians has been that we have tried Christianity and conservatism. C.S.Lewis, famed Christian writer and ex-atheist, warned again and again against “Christianity AND…” meaning using Christianity as a means to an end, rather than just BEING  Christians in the world. We have spent a lot of time, energy and creative talent to try to get the federal or state government to listen to Christians, to follow the Ten Commandments and other Christian/Jewish bedrock principles, which has mainly meant to enshrine the right to life of the unborn and infirm, and to allow freedom of religious expression, and to quit allowing those who are deep in sin to promote their sins more broadly, and even give those sins LEGAL STATUS. The Left has used those efforts against us, branded us as “sexist” ,”intolerant”, “old-fashioned”, “hating:,”outdated”,”women-haters” and “homophobes”. That has ALWAYS been their defense against ANY unpleasant truth, make the TRUTHTELLER seem like the bad guy by calling him an emotionally provocative NAME, thus keeping  uninformed  people  who are also lazy-minded from even WANTING to hear the “other side”. They have been SPECTACULARLY successful in this, and the unborn and heterosexual marriage are under attack like never before in HISTORY. What is worse, Christianity, in the eyes of many, has been reduced to a politically conservative, even backwards, special interest group, nothing more. That is an unspeakable TRAGEDY, a terrible mistake that will have to be corrected, and FAST.

I have some ideas for where we can go from here.

1. Let us BE Christians, NOT just talk about it.

In so doing,let us follow the Master’s example, AND His teachings as presented in the Gospels. FORGET about Paul for the time being. Some Christian leaders quote from Paul’s epistles almost exclusively, and NOT from Christ’s gospel. Paul taught repeatedly in his epistles that Christians were not to befriend or even help non-Christians, that their love and loyalty were to be toward EACH OTHER. Christ, on the other hand, taught quite OTHERWISE. Samaritans and Jews HATED each other when Jesus walked the earth, yet he told the parable of the “Good Samaritan” when asked by a Jewish lawyer,”Who IS my neighbor?” Obviously, by answering with THAT particular parable, his reply was, ANYONE WHO NEEDS YOUR HELP.

I think that preacher Warren did a great disservice in writing his book “The Purpose-Driven Life”, when HE said repeatedly that the Church is our family and that we SHOULDN’T GO outside it for friendship, or to give or get help. Believing THAT, I think, is one of the basic misunderstandings that many Christians have. If we only have friends or ask help of or give help to EACH OTHER, WITHIN the community of Christians, what outsider would EVER want to join? “What a bunch of SNOBS/WEIRDOS/HOLIER-THAN-THOU types!” Not to mention the sad-but-true fact that many if not most Christians have some relatives or family members who are not of the Christian persuasion. Our refusal to associate with THEM, due to their “lack of faith”, will likely alienate them all the more FROM us, AND our faith. I have known a few of these people, who are shunned by parents or siblings who have become born-again Christians, and they all wonder what Christianity IS, if it can cause people to start avoiding THEIR OWN CHILDREN.

Is THAT “going out into all the world to proclaim the Gospel”?

So, let us act as Christians, being “in the world, but not of it”, reaching out in Christlike love to other people,especially those in need, even those of other faiths, and even those of  NO faith.

2. Think globally, act locally.

Someday,never fear, Christ WILL return. That is our faith, and our message to the world,but  the Left has a near-monopoly on the world media. So, we need to go forward with the age-old maxim,”Passion and gradualness”, used so effectively by the LEFT. We grow our faith by scripture study, by personal prayer, and by acting on  the guidance of our conscience. Then, we can go out and be a LIGHT in our own TOWN,NEIGHBORHOOD, COMMUNITY. The more we do, the more we CAN do, the more we WANT to do,and the more good we WILL do, in our own community. If most Christians would get out there and ACT, LOCALLY, and KEEP AT IT,and involve our children as much as possible, we will see the TIDE TURN. The mass media can defame Christians and faith all they want, and it will lessen and eventually destroy the effect if LOTS of people have had POSITIVE EXPERIENCES with LOCAL CHRISTIANS.

This will mean that we have to CHANGE a little bit. Instead of going to church meetings 4 nights a week,we may have to take our children,prayerfully, to go help in the local soup kitchen one night a week and only attend church 3 nights. We may have to volunteer at the local PTA and actually rub elbows with some non-churchgoing people, and work with THEM to do some good in the school. We may have to attend training classes with our pets and go be a pet therapist handler at the local hospital or seniors home. We may have to go volunteer at the local library to teach illiterate people to read. Perhaps we can do these things as a church GROUP, but we really HAVE to HELP locally if we want to make things better for the Christian community,AND for our local community.

 If enough alert Christian parents had been to PTA and school board meetings in the 60s and 70s, the Leftist textbooks and class curricula used to indoctrinate our children and teenagers in the classroom, with such tragic consequences for them, for us and for the Church and nation, might never have been allowed. If we involve ourselves NOW…..

We have to change, if we want to SEE change.

3. We need to HAVE SOME FAITH.

Many early Christians were KILLED for it.

 I think the adversity we are going through at present is because we have been too long passive in the face of serious threats,too busy going about doing good in our families and at and for church,and when we finally woke up, the tide had turned against us. It looks VERY bad out there for us. Those early Christians didn’t go to war to save themselves, they hid, they prayed, and the whole known world was eventually Christianized.

We must have faith, NOW, when it looks as if America is sliding into a spiritual darkness like that all over Europe. We must do all we can to strengthen the cause of Christ on the earth. We should give all we can afford to to Christian charities. Let them become even bigger and more powerful than godless, corrupt UNICEF. Let us build floats  and have our people ride them in our town parades, with Christian music pouring from its speakers. Let us be fearless advocates of our faith, wherever  we go

Politics is the filthiest career on earth. All the most evil people of history were political dictators of one kind or another. Politics is corrupting to EVERYONE who undertakes it, to some degree, and Christians are MUCH better off staying OUT of it. Let us act as Christian individuals and congregations (NOT millions of sheeple in one group) to contact our politicians and express our views. Mass protests are tempting, but these days, any mass Christian protest would be met with a mass atheistic protest, since they watch us so carefully, and the media would gleefully report on THEM, not US. When our locally-elected politicians come back home to meet with the people, let’s go to those meetings, and politely but firmly state our concerns, and politely but firmly refuse to be shouted down by the opposition. By doing these things, we can get through to the politicians, maybe even ENLIGHTEN a few of them, where we failed to on the NATIONAL level. Every politician has to be re-elected to stay in office, and if a number of Christians (perhaps outnumbering their opponents) keep coming to public meetings, keep writing him letters (one issue per letter), keep sounding polite,pleasant and reasonable, he will be MUCH more inclined to pay attention to them than he will to an EVER-so-big protest demonstration in Washington. Above all, let us NOT encourage ANY Christian to become a politician. The way it looks now, Washington,DC is almost as efficient a soul-destroyer as Mecca.

We shall gain the victory in the end, but it will be much happier and successful a journey TO the end if we will each DO OUR PART.

THEY are now generous with our POSTERITY’S money!!!!

Our childrens‘ futures have now been mortgaged to pay the unimaginably enormous bills that our spend-spend-spend politicians ran up while they lied to us about the cost of all  their generosity with our money, or even deliberately hid the cost from us, like a dishonest teenager hiding the family car he damaged in driving recklessly , for fear of being held accountable for it. I say, hold them accountable! Let’s demand the impeachment of all the worst crooks, like Pelosi and Frank and their chums. Let’s vote out every last Senator and Congressman and Congresswoman now in office. That way, while a very few honorable people will be forced out. at least we won’t have any bad  ones left who did these rotten things.Finally, let’s inform the new members of Congress that they had better be honest and accountable and financially conservative, or we will limit them to a single term. And let’s keep that up until we have an honest, honorable Congress, having made a change we can believe in, by ourselves! Let’s demand also that they follow the Constitution and shrink the government to fit it. NO MORE are they  or the President  to be allowed to throw taxpayer money and new laws and regulations and a new bureaucracy at every problem. No more will we allow them to stay in office indefinitely, using tax funds as their own private piggy bank. to fund their pet projects or enrich their own lifestyles.

Either socialism ends in America, or America will end in socialism.

Liberals,Democrats,dictators,environmental extremists,and guns

 

Liberals, Democrats, dictators of all extremes all over the world, and environmental extremists have been working day, night and overtime  for many years to try to get guns away from almost all people,criminals and non-criminals alike,hunters, too, sometimes including the police. With the tragic assasssinations of the Kennedys and Dr. King in the 60s, the anti-gun forces kicked into high gear, resulting in the Gun Control Act of 1968. They must have thought that making it difficult for people to legally acquire guns would make gun violence go WAY down. If that was their thinking, it was a dreadfully mistaken notion, and the GCA was an obvious, massive failure. While the Act was being debated, bumper stickers appeared across the land,”if GUNS are OUTLAWED, only OUTLAWS will have GUNS” (emphasis on the original bumper stickers). The bumper sticker was prophetic. Nowadays, we have outlaw criminal GANGS running around in all major cities in America, much like the bloodiest of Wild West movies, only THESE gangs can outgun the sheriff, the police, EVERYBODY. Ordinary citizens lock themselves in  and stay off the streets,while the gangs run around freely, rather a backwards situation! Even the Brady gun bill, which was even STRICTER than the GCA, didn’t stop THEM.

The Obama regime’s recent proposal to disarm all people over 60 years old on the grounds that they  “are too senile” to safely handle a gun is totally OUTRAGEOUS. (If Obama is so SMART, then what happened to HIM, and who is THIS guy???) For one thing, “senility” as in Alzheimer’s ISN’T a problem for MOST seniors. For another, this is discrimination on the basis of AGE, which several federal laws prohibit. So…did Obama get a death threat from the Gray Panthers, or does he want to save on Social Security costs by making the old people easy victims of violent crime? What a nincompoop LAW, someone must have been snorting SOMETHING.

A brief history of the gun control Gestapo may be appropriate here.

Ahead of the first Earth Day arose a segment of American society that called themselves “environmentalists”. They quickly grew in numbers, power and money, and were soon able, with an army of slick lawyers, to initiate lawsuits against EVERYONE  they disapproved of, private companies and corporations alike, AND state and federal lawmakers, too. They convinced the schools, sometimes with threatened lawsuits, always with “free educational materials”,to allow environmentalism to be taught as SCIENCE. Environmentalism is not science, not as the term is commonly defined. Environmentalism is a worldview that, at the most extreme, says that ALL animals are equally as important as ANY people,that EVERYTHING comes second to the complete preservation in its pristine state of the ENVIRONMENT. Jobs may be lost, whole REGIONS may be depopulated of PEOPLE, huge CORPORATIONS may topple, the economy may COLLAPSE under the weight of excessive taxes and environmental regulations that micromanage , and require that certain things MUST be done without regard to cost or even to being POSSIBLE. The environmentalsts seemingly think themselves ABOVE mere practical considerations, that if THEY can believe it, others MUST achieve it. They are convinced, like any COMMUNIST group, that “the end justifies the means”, that therefore ALL that they say and do is RIGHT, for they are MORALLY SUPERIOR to NON-environmentalists. In their zeal to advance “animal rights” (which seemingly grew out of environmentalism), they put into their “free instructional materials” that ALL hunting is BAD, is CRUEL, that HUNTERS are STUPID and CRUEL  and ENJOY causing pain to the animals they hunt. They knew that this would lead the children to HATE the IDEA of hunting, and would decrease the number of hunters over time. Also, it would help to discourage the OLDER hunters from going out hunting, if their children loudly disapprove. Moreover, the environmentalists themselves went into the woods to harass and even assault hunters, destroy their personal property, and scare off the animals so the hunters couldn’t find any. More recently, they have used the courts to actually STOP hunting at times and in places and after kinds of animals that have been legal for a LONG TIME. There is NO rational reason for ending a legal hunt these days, but that doesn’t matter to THEM.So,the number of hunters in the last 3 decades HAS declined, and the number of wild animals has risen rapidly in many places. What is worse, predators like coyotes, cougars and bears who USED to be hunted a lot have had several generations grow up without ever HEARING a gun go off, and so they have lost their fear of people. That fear USED to PROTECT people who went into wild places. The cougars or coyotes would hear people in the DISTANCE and would run away to protect themselves. Now, they have no such instinct to hide from people, and with their growing numbers, they are beginning to encroach, not only on new developments that “expand into the animals’ territory” and “damage the ecosystem”, but into towns and cities that have been there for a century or more, where the animals didn’t USED to go. Their WILD environment may be “shrinking”, but the animal population is GROWING, and so is their “territory”. INTO the territory of PEOPLE. The environmentalists insist that it is “environmental destruction” ALONE that is causing  the sudden rise in wild animal attacks on people and domestic pets and livestock. That is partly true, but the REST of the problem has its roots in the decline and persecution of legal hunting and hunters. The predators have NO “natural enemies” other THAN man. By the time the predators’ numbers have risen enough that they can start to REALLY control the HUGE overpopulation of deer and other nuisance prey-type wildlife, which hunters USED to do, the predators will themselves become a HUGE problem to US. Can you imagine trying to dodge a running deer with your car, only to find a pack of WOLVES is right behind it?

And the  most fascistic environmentalist groups all support the Democratic party,and the Democratic party politicians generally vote in their favor. Hunters are,by and large, conservative types who have historically voted Republican. Unlike the holier-than-thou environmentalists, hunters’ organizations have actually spent  much of their money on PRESERVING HABITAT for the animals they hunt, and on programs for helping to ensure the perpetuation of native wildlife, and their lobby is not a well-known or powerful one (which is why they keep getting outlawed and ruled against in court). The environmentalist extremists, meanwhile, spend much of THEIR money on advertising, lawsuits and political contributions.

To Democrats.

Some environmentalists say that “if you leave the animals alone, they will leave you alone”. This fails to explain why it is that so many wild animals attack from the REAR, attack people that don’t even know the animals are AROUND, so presumably CANNOT be “bothering” them. Evidently, for some wild beasts, if you come within 500 yards of them, THAT is “bothering” them.

Tangentially,the idea that an “environment” CAN be “preserved” in its “pristine state” is LUDICROUS. An ecosystem is not a ripe apricot,you can’t stick it in hot sugar syrup in a jar, seat the lid, and process it in a boiling water bath so it will keep nicely in that state for YEARS.  An ecosystem will change, ALL BY ITSELF, even with NO “environmental degradation” going on. I learned about “climax forests” in high school. That is what “wetlands” (SWAMPS!) eventually become,over centuries or even thousands of years, passing through a number of changes along the way.Then the climax forest slowly becomes a swamp again, and the cycle begins again. Wildfires, tornadoes,  floods, hurricanes, mudslides, avalanches, volcanoes, wreck houses AND dens. Animal populations fluctuate, species come and go, climate itself changes over time, and ALWAYS HAS. You can no more maintain an area in its ”pristine state” (whatever state you found it in) than you can keep a banana left outside from spoiling. The environment is too complex TO “preserve in its current state”, we know so little about it, really.

The registration of guns, dictated by the GCA, was SUPPOSED to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. That is the reason given by the Democrats who advocated it. As we know, THAT sure didn’t work. It DID have a dampening effect on DECENT people getting one. Also, there has never EVER been a government in the WORLD that registered gun ownership and then LEFT the guns WITH the owners. Hitler and Stalin and probably all OTHER ruthless dictators forced gun owners to register their firearms,then used the registration records to go around and DISARM THE CITIZENRY, making armed resistance impossible. Why does THAT matter? you ask. Because, in a dictatorship,the army and police are NEVER disarmed. Without their own guns to protect their lives and rights, the citizenry are easily forced by GOVERNMENT arms to do whatever the Boss Man (or Woman) WANTS. THAT is tyranny!

The Democratic Party has fought hard for 4 decades to increase governmental control over EVERYTHING to do with guns and gun ownership, some Democrats (in line with the ACLU) even insist that the Second Amendment does NOT permit INDIVIDUAL gun ownership, only “militias” are to be armed, they say.

The ACLU is ANOTHER supporter of the Democratic Party.

Over in England, they have the very strictest gun laws in the whole WORLD. When they were enacted (and I understand they are strictly enforced) the hoped-for decline in murders didn’t happen. Murderers who had no gun accomplished the killing instead with a baseball bat, a knife, poison, a length of rope…It gave weight to the oft-repeated idea that “Guns don’t kill people, PEOPLE do.”

On the other hand,in Israel, every adult MUST own a gun, and every citizen over 18 must go thru military training, including how to use a gun. There, they have the lowest murder rate in the WORLD.

So, I have a proposal. Let the federal government enforce the spirit AND letter of the Second Amendment. Let the Supreme court ban ALL laws in ALL states that seek to regulate, tax or limit gun ownership, and allow ALL citizens the right to own firearms. Encourage the various gun manufacturers to hold classes on safe gun use and target shooting,and to establish hunting clubs to encourage hunting and teach gun choice, use and maintenance, hunting ethics and safety. Ban imports of poor-quality guns made by enemy states, like China. Make regulated hunting in each state a Constitutional right so that the environmentalists can be jailed for interfering with it, and their lawsuits can be thrown out. I think that if we had an ARMED citizenry, gun violence by criminals and gangs would be drastically curtailed, campus shooting sprees would be cut VERY short, crimes against property would steeply decline,dangerous, landscape-destroying animals would stop being a problem, more poor people would be eating better by getting their own fresh meat during hunting season (and maybe more from relatives and friends who hunt), and gun-toting border crossers would go back home QUICK. There might be a brief “adjustment period” at first, where gun deaths would go UP very briefly, but once the “bad guys” figure out that they are surrounded by LEGAL gun-toters, THEY will go hide at home behind locked doors, and our streets will be safe, 24/7, like they USED to be.

The DEATH business

Obama is evidently trying to greatly expand the death business we already have in America, what with the abortion industry booming. He wants the TAXPAYERS to be FORCED to start PAYING for the killings of unborn babies in OTHER COUNTRIES. He is so cozy with China, I suppose that a good portion of the death money will go THERE. There, they already HAVE their OWN taxpayer-funded FORCED ABORTIONS. The “freedom to choose” THERE is with the GOVERNMENT.His barbaric notion is to FACILITATE the slaughter with a flood of AMERICAN dollars. What’s next, a policy of “no foreign aid for countries WITHOUT tax-funded abortions already in place”? Abortion funding has NO PLACE in foreign policy.
Then,domestically, he will force US to pay for ‘”embryonic stem cell research”, which means killing EMBRYOS,which means LOTS OF FERTILIZED EGGS must come from SOMEPLACE. If this goes ahead, ouir daughters and granddaughters will likely see ads offering large sums of money for THEIR EGGS,to be fertilized SOMEPLACE,by SOMEONE, and then our grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be done to death in EMBRYO in a likely-endless series of “experiments” that WE PAY FOR.
I suppose that the Democrats and Left are pushing for “abortion rights” and embryonic stem cell research BECAUSE so many of the men of them (Clinton and the Kennedy boys come to mind readily) “sow their wild oats”, and by making abortions cheap or even FREE, AND easy to get right up to delivery, by any and all means possible, they help insure a “crop failure” and cut back greatly on paternity suits, now that medical technology can FIND the father.

Did YOU think it was gonna get this bad???

I tend to think catastrophically (“oh, this’ll be a DISASTER!!”), and KNOW that, so I try to calm myself down when a disaster-in-the-making seems headed in my direction. Over 99% of the time, the TIDAL WAVE  I was bracing for turned out to be a  boat wake that got my sneakers wet and inconvenienced my cat. So, the Obama phenomenon has been a whole new experience for me, emotionally. Let me explain.

I am always prepared to be disgusted at Democratic candidates in general. The Democrats, as a rule (1% of them excepted) tend to want to throw taxes, regulations and new government agencies at problems. When that fails, they pile on MORE tax money and regulations, and a BIGGER agency, or bring in another, already-created agency to “assist”, with predictable, resulting inefficiencies. Government agencies as a whole are inefficient,slow,corrupt,FOREVER,glacierlike in their speed to reacting to new realities,and burn money like it’s just paper (which it pretty much IS, nowadays). Democrats have yet to see that. They STILL have absolute faith in the ability of a big-enough, monied-enough government to solve EVERY problem, meet EVERY need,and the fact that  the United States government has so far miserably failed to bring about paradise on earth means that the taxes aren’t high enough, the government isn’t big enough, what’s worse, the EUROPEANS are therefore jealous of us, and so the government MUST get bigger and more intrusive into its citizens’ lives, and MUST squeeze MORE taxes out of those with some income who are not in a protected group. And they talk and behave as if “change” and “progress”, in and of themselves, are absolute goods, as if  to “keep on keepin’ on” is totally UNACCEPTABLE, whether it is right and works, or not. As if “going back to what works” is UNPARDONABLY TERRIBLE.

I saw that Obama was black, and was ALMOST willing to vote for him just for that. (I myself am white,female, and an Army veteran.) I am a lifelong conservative, though, and a patriot, with a particular soft spot for the military (having been in it). From that point of view, I felt that skin color was secondary to “the content of [a man's] character” in electing him for any public office,ESPECIALLY the presidency, where he will be the chief executive of the most powerful nation on earth. I didn’t like what I saw of Obama’s character. He’s good-looking,only in his 40s,has a nice smile, a charming personality,an impressive speaking voice,a slim wife who dresses well and has a HUGE smile…and that was about the end of the positives. I NEVER heard him talk publicly about what SPECIFIC policies he planned to put in place as the president. His speeches were well put-together, but devoid of any real information or sharing of himself, his goals, where he planned to lead us. He used the words “hope” and “change” a lot, without describing at all what change he MEANT, or what he hoped FOR. I saw him avoid saluting the flag, I heard some of the stupid things he said, like blaming ALL our fiscal problems on President BUSH alone,and I turned against voting for him, especially when I found out how pro-abortion he is and has been,not wanting his daughters to be “punished” by a baby. I found out further about all the funny business in Chicago, and saw how several of his friends and financial backers are or have been in prison, about Reverend Wright, and other things. I also saw how the media were practically SLOBBERING over him, “tingles up my leg” and all,and were AWOL in their responsibilities to actually INVESTIGATE this man that wanted to be President, and stayed silent while Hillary Clinton was practically hounded from her own Presidential campaign. What’re they trying to PULL? I thought, very uneasily. It further disgusted me that the press allowed hinm to turn them into his own PR staff, obviously setting himself up for photo and video ops that they fawningly turned out for. His lack of openness about himself and his plans and goals as president, they totally ignored.

 The GOP, as if trying to help him win, managed to put up the worst GOP candidate in history, with their “open primaries”. The “moderates” and “undecideds” voted for McPain in the primaries, giving us the worst candidate possible, then voted for OBAMA on election day.

The Wall Street “collapse” looked a little too conveniently timed to me,especially given that “Wall Street” had given Obama several TIMES as much money as they had McCain. It seemed obvious to me that they were gonna get him into the White House so that their “investment” would PAY OFF. History has shown that when a financial downturn occurs a few weeks or months before the election, the voting public ALWAYS blames it on the sitting President and his Party,and vote for the OTHER Party’s candidates. Wall Street KNEW that, so they engineered a “collapse” to ensure an Obama victory. I was a little comforted when Charles Krauthammer said the same thing on TV.

I read some uncomfortable info about Obama BEFORE the election,both on the Internet and in books, and watched Fox News, the only news outlet on TV that WAS checking into Obama’s politics and background, and a sick dread of what I knew was coming gripped me. Obama’s politics and background made him an obviously VERY poor choice for president. I would hear, again and again, that he said something REALLY stupid, childish or evil, and would not believe it, then someone would email a YouTube link about it, and I could see and hear Obama saying it,IN CONTEXT. Even so, they kept calling him a “rock star”, and crowds ACTED like he was one. Oprah openly campaigned for him, and said on her show after he was elected how happy she was. She called him “The One” after the Messiah-type guy in “The Matrix”, and millions of people who had forgotten that “The Matrix” was only a fictional MOVIE  picked up on her enthusiasm, and bought Obama as enthusiastically as they ever had “Oprah’s Club” books. THAT was scary, that a popular and powerful, billionaire Hollywood celebrity and businesswoman could virtually pick the President she wanted by encouraging millions of mindless fans to follow her and vote for him. I braced myself for the disaster that would be Election Day,2008.

I was disgusted almost as much by McCain. He had been all for open borders, and it had taken an ENORMOUS public outcry to defeat the idea in Congress, and he was angry about it still, and I was pretty sure that he’d open the borders as president. He voted AGAINST the marriage amendment, and he wasn’t the strongest pro-lifer ever, either. He seemed pretty erratic in his politics, too, His “maverick” status, so admired by the media, disgusted me. In my experience, the maverick is the person who will not commit to a side, or to a group of like-minded people, but wants to be a maverick because  he only wants to be for HIMSELF. Like  a HIPPIE, always “expressing myself”. His “straight talk” too often was ill-conceived, off-the-cuff remarks that he later had to apologize for. Also, he was known for being bad-tempered and for calling names and swearing at people who disagreed with him. He behaved as if he thought that NOBODY who disagreed with him could POSSIBLY have good ideas OR good motives, they were all either idiots, lying, or corrupt. His only real firm stands were pro-McCain and pro-illegal immigrants.He”crossed the aisle to get things done” so much that they had a SEAT saved for him, and tried to use that as a selling point to get himself elected president.Not the kind of man I wanted in the White House. “Getting things done” in Washington is NOT a Constitutional requirement, or even a virtue,in fact, the less they DO do, the better off  The People are, as a rule.

So, there I was, almost literally worried SICK when Obama won. What would the “unknown devil” DO? And it has been an emotional HORROR  for me, ever since. I awake,and check the news, and DAILY, he says or does something ELSE that is spectacularly ill-informed, misinformed, stupid,evil,or Communistic. Or a BUNCH of things. I am worried about the rubber-stamp Congress, the flouting of my Constitutional rights, about my tax burden, about funding my retirement, about LIVING  that long (if I can survive socialized medicine),about life for my grandchildren with the “public service” bill that’s been proposed and includes “service” for CHILDREN, and the huge public debt THEY will have to “service”. I am worried about us conservative bloggers being “scrubbed” and our posts being rejected,about the parade of NON-Christianity in the federal government and what it might mean to Christian churches in this country,about the simultaneous TRIPLING of the federal debt, expansion of “work-free” welfare and shrinkage of the military, of Obama’s demonstrated ineptitude in conducting foreign policy and ignorance/denial of the existence of IslamoNazism, the list is LOTS longer, and grows almost DAILY.

I am disgusted at how he STILL won’t be open. Where’s the “TRANSPARENCY”??? He never explains ANYTHING, or answers any questions off the cuff. He stutters and stammers and can’t even put together a sensible sentence WITHOUT a TelePrompter. A FIVE YEAR OLD would have handled the visit from PM Brown better than Obama did. The press has also been strangely non-critical about his announcement that he would 0nly allow the WHITE HOUSE PHOTOGRAPHER to take photos in the White House,and that only those photos that were passed by Obama himself would be allowed to be published.

Who IS his handler?? MICHAEL MOORE?????

Avoiding feeling overwhelmed as a homemaker

I was a homemaker for 24 years,married all that time,and we had 7 kids together. I have remarried, and had over 2 years between marriages. I decided it might be helpful to other homemakers to pass on what I learned. I am now working full time, and a part-time homemaker,and can say honestly that that is lots easier. Homemaking is unpaid because it is PRICELESS. There is no other job anywhere as all-consuming as being a wife and mother and keeping a home when you have that as YOUR career!
1. PUT LIMITS ON YOUR HOUSEWORK. I have known a few homemakers for whom keeping an orderly,immaculate home became their mission in life. Some were successful in involving the family in their obsession so they all were thinking cleanliness and orderliness all the time. Other women were doing it themselves because “I want it done RIGHT, and NOW”. While I did envy them their clean, organized homes, NONE of them seemed like happy people. Often, the family members were unhappy, too, with their needs for Mom or Sweetie unmet while she endlessly cleaned and arranged and nitpicked.
A clean house is necessary for health, mental AND physical, but after all is said and done, ALL a house is is a place for the family to LIVE. Children only stay little and at home such a BRIEF while, spouses die before you know it, and the time to be with them and love them and enjoy them is NOW,TODAY.
So, do some housecleaning every day (except for 1 day a week,you NEED a day off), but,EVERY DAY, also have an END TIME for it. Once that time is reached,STOP. Spend the rest of the day with you, your spouse and children, and put the housework completely out of your mind until tomorrow. If it pops into your head, yell “TOMORROW!!” at it. 20 years from now, the kids will have forgotten how often you dusted, but they WILL remember the bedtime stories, your attendance when they were sick, your getting to ALL their concerts and award ceremonies. And the time you spend with your spouse is the way to a great marriage. Like a healthy garden,for a healthy marriage, YA GOTTA PUT IN THE HOURS.
2. FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS, OR THE SPIRIT,IF YOU BELIEVE IN IT.That was something I read in “The First 5 Years” by Dr. Virginia Pomeranz in my teens, and it WORKS. She didn’t mention the Spirit,but I am convinced that, for those with faith, the Holy Spirit CAN and WILL give us perfect advice. Dr. Pomeranz advocated following your instincts, even when they conflicted with advice from parents and friends and relatives. She said to ask yourself 3 questions in child-rearing. Am I happy? Is my spouse happy? Is the child happy? If the answers are all yes, then things are just fine. If there’s a no, an adjustment of some kind is called-for. The idea is, trust your own deepest feelings. You may wind up raising your family in a different way than other people, but that may well be just fine, as long as you follow that Voice within you, and not fads, or pressures from parents,friends or the Powers That Be.
3.AVOID CLUTTERING YOUR LIFE. Stuff is nice,but the more of it you have, the more items you have to find places for, put away,clean, insure, maintain, keep instructions for, remember who you loaned it to, and so on. So, the more stuff you own, including even PETS, the more time you must spend on your stuff, and the less time you will have for the REAL joys in life, that all come from NON-stuff. I have had it both ways, and I highly recommend the non-cluttered life. In fact, I have found that giving away my stuff brings a joy so warm it is almost HOT, while GETTING it is more of a short-lived pleasure.
Half the stuff means half the time needed to look after it!

Abortion and birth control are OPPRESSIVE!

Think I’m crazy? Hang in there for a minute, and I’ll explain my reasoning.

If you are over 43,  contraceptives were actually ILLEGAL, for EVERYONE, single OR married, in the United States, during your lifetime, and had been before then. Then, in 2 separate rulings, the Supreme Court, in its infinite wisdom, struck down all laws against contraceptives. The first ruling, in 1965, Griswold v. Connecticut, held that laws against contraceptive use by married couples violated “marital privacy” and therefore were unconstitutional. In 1972, in Eisenstadt v. Baird, they ruled that, since married people had a Constitutional right to use contraceptives, it was a violation of the Constitutional “equal protection” clause to prohibit their use by UNmarried people.

Just think of how things were before 1965 for American girls who’d hit puberty, and American women. They could refuse sex with their boyfriend or husband, on the grounds that “I don’t want to get pregnant”. The more religiously minded or otherwise morally conservative among them could also refuse on the grounds that it was also against their morals. Women and girls could demand to NOT be treated as living sex toys, on those grounds, and “good girls” (the ones who said no and made it STICK) were highly sought-after as marriage partners by the more responsible, emotionally mature, self-controlled and successful  men.

 With the Supreme Court rulings, contraceptive use and development proliferated, and hit its apex in the “birth control pill”, which approached 99% in  effectiveness, better than any other birth control method except the word “no” (which is 100% effective, when heeded). Suddenly, womankind could avoid pregnancy altogether, for the first time in human history, just by taking pills every day. Women who were morally conservative or religious were then suddenly much less popular, as the women who had abstained from sex solely to avoid pregnancy took advantage of their “sexual liberation” and began going to bed with boys and men that weren’t their husbands, or even fiance’s. Times changed even more, and a woman’s morality could be turned against her. “If you won’t have sex with me, it’s OVER between us, I’ll find a girl who WILL”. If a woman didn’t WANT to take the pill, OR to have a baby out of wedlock, there were few boys or men who were interested in her. Television , popular novels, and the movies made sexual promiscuity by both sexes seem fun, exciting and beautiful, and if a gal didn’t go along with that, she was ostracized by the men. So, the pill, which started out as the great liberator of woman, became her oppressor, forcing upon her a sexual “liberation” that was actually a “liberation” for the MEN, freeing them from having to be grown up in their relationships with women, allowing them to be permanently teenage, thinking from their crotches, choosing wives and girlfriends based on their “sexiness”, and on their performance in bed, and on little else. Adultery is now a commonplace, sexually-transmitted diseases sterilize and kill and cause permanent pain and suffering. Pornography is universally accessible, and further indoctrinates men that women WANT to be treated like sex toys, and the birth control pill provides men with the opportunity to live out their pornographic fantasies without the inconvenience of fathering a baby and ruining his lover’s sexy shape.

Abortion, touted as a woman’s Constitutional “right to choose”, has become another oppression. For most women getting abortions these days, the “choice” was made by someone ELSE, and the pregnant women themselves WANTED the baby. The woman, most of the time, submits to the barbarity of an abortion because the person she depended on the most, her husband, her father, her grandmother, whoever, demanded that she get an abortion, or if not, she would lose the support of that person. Rather than be abandoned with a baby, she goes ahead with an unwanted abortion.

Sometimes an idea that seems like a good one DOES have unintended consequences. The ideas on contraceptives and abortion that the Supreme Court came up with , with their “emanations and penumbras”(or flatus, as doctors call it), have had DEVASTATING consequences that might have been foreseen if the Supremes had but thought for ten minutes ABOUT possible negative consequences. As it is, these rulings have torn brutally at the fabric of our civilization.
